Pastor Hal Mayer Accepts Mantle of Speaker and Director · April 05, 2010

When Elder Lawrence Nelson felt that he could no longer continue the rigorous activities associated with the ministry of Keep the Faith, he invited Pastor Hal Mayer to become Speaker and President effective May 1, 2004.

“I have tremendous vision for Keep the Faith,” says pastor Mayer. “I believe it is one of the very best tools there is for ministering to those who hunger for truth, both in large secular communities as well as among faithful souls in isolated areas around the world. Keep the Faith has been very instrumental in helping thousands upon thousands to awaken and prepare for the coming of Jesus!”

Pastor Hal Mayer came to Keep the Faith Ministry with a wealth of experience in the Seventh-day Adventist message. He also has long term leadership experience in self-supporting work, having been one of the founders of Hartland Institute in Virginia, USA. Pastor Mayer, a church history professor, sought after speaker and an active writer conducts a heavy preaching schedule holding meetings around the world to encourage God’s people to get ready for the coming of Jesus and the approaching time of trouble. Pastor Hal Mayer is married to Betsy his wife of 28 years.

Betsy is the editor of the Last Generation magazine, which is a powerful 32-page, full-color witnessing magazine designed especially for literature missionaries. Pastor and Sister Mayer have no children of their own, but have been ministering to college youth for many years. Sister Mayer continues her full-time ministry for Hartland Institute.

For more than 20 years, Pastor Mayer has been an active, inspiring and effective speaker for churches, youth groups, academic classrooms, music festivals and home school meetings around the world. During the 10 years of his ministry through Keep the Faith, Elder Nelson’s love for the truth has been plainly evident. His powerful and encouraging messages have stirred men and women around the world with the truth for this time. Many, upon hearing his monthly recorded messages, requested to be added to the free mailing list. As more and more were encouraged and inspired by the messages, the listeners increased in numbers. Keep the Faith continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Many duplicate their CDs and send them to friends and family. Some share their tapes for Sabbath morning worship or prayer meetings. Many use their CDs for prayer meetings or Bible study groups. “We never envisioned that it would grow so large,” says Elder Nelson. “We just started duplicating some of my sermons for a few people who requested them. It just grew and grew!”

“Elder Nelson had a tremendous burden for the truth of God to the last generation, and I share that vision and fervency,” says Pastor Mayer. “The times in which we live are thrilling, and deserve a message with the ring of truth!” Elder Nelson had a strong commitment to the Spirit of Prophecy and preached it with power. “Our faith is being tested and we greatly need the counsels the Lord has been pleased to give us in these last days. We need to be watching and studying the truth in light of current events,” says Pastor Mayer. Pastor Mayer continues the strong emphasis on end time events and preparation for the coming crisis.

Pastor Mayer has a love for history and religious liberty. A strong Religious liberty theme runs through his history classes, sermons and articles. “As we near the last moments of this earth’s history, we must pay more attention to the events unfolding around us and prepare for what prophecy declares is coming upon this world,” says Pastor Mayer.
