Genetic research (eugenics) has now come to the place where scientists can envision inventing a new human species.
“The ability to engineer life is going to spark a revolution that will dwarf the industrial and digital revolutions, says Juan Enriquez, a writer, investor, and managing director of Excel Venture Management. Thanks to new genomics technologies, scientists have not only been able to read organisms’ genomes faster than ever before, they can also write increasingly complex changes into those genomes, creating organisms with new capabilities.”
“Now that we can rewrite the code of life, Darwinian evolution can’t stop us,” he says.
Genetic engineering will change the world including the way humans have babies, how they handle certain diseases and conditions, and eventually create a species through manipulation of human DNA that would even perhaps prevent people from dying.
“Today’s plastic surgery is going to seem tame compared to what’s coming…” said Enriquez. “This revolution will be more widespread because this is software that writes its own hardware.”
Genetic engineering has many implications for the human race, and while it is not spoken about much, there is the underlying hope that science can create a super-race, much like the Nazi doctors were trying to do in World-War II Europe.
For instance, you can freeze sperm and implant it 100 years from now once science has developed the capability to master its development. This changes the rules of reproduction. Perhaps in the future, a couple could “order” the type of characteristics they want in a child.
But eugenics has the potential, scientists suggest, to modify the way the body and it symbiotic relationship with microbes can effect diseases such as the wound-healing problems with diabetics.
Making a new species happens by small steps, little changes. Enriquez made this intriguing statement, “Scientists have recently been able to compare the genomes of Neanderthals and modern humans, which reveal just a .004 percent difference.”
This suggests that scientists could engineer another Neanderthal man, given enough time. However, scientists have much more in mind. They hope to affect the way human bodies relate to their environment and even their lifestyle. Changing the genetic makeup of microbes working inside the body, for instance, could enhance the way to body handles digestive functions and reverse or prevent certain disorders, or other processes affected by diseases.
Human enhancement, as this branch of eugenics is euphemistically called, came out of U.S. universities in the World War II era and was used by Nazi Germany to attempt a super-race. But in reality it is degrading to the human race and diminishes the image of God in man. The moral and ethical hazards are enormous and will bring us to the very conditions that brought on the judgments of God in the time of the flood.
“But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere. God purposed to destroy by a flood that powerful, long-lived race that had corrupted their ways before him.” Spiritual Gifts, Vol. 3, page 64.
Today, these same corrupting influence, presented as positive and useful science is only storing up wrath against the day of wrath.
“Every species of animals which God had created was preserved in the ark. The confused species which God did not create, which were the result of amalgamation, were destroyed by the flood.” Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 1, page 78.
Could Neanderthal man have been the result of “genetic enhancement” by pre-flood eugenics experimentation?
