Argentinean bishop: Law of God Does Not Change · July 22, 2010

Bishop Martin de Elizalde of Nueve de Julio, Argentina said last week that the Law of God does not change. He was speaking against the new Argentine law that allows homosexuals to marry.

“There is something that does not change and cannot change, and that is the law of God and the voice of conscience which is in every person.”

Perhaps the bishop is unaware that the Catholic Church has changed God’s law by its own canon laws requiring Sunday worship. Or perhaps the bishop believes that Roman Catholic canon law is equal with or supersedes God’s law.

Regardless of what he believes concerning this point, he is right that God’s law does not change. Unfortunately, the Catholic Church, according to prophecy, “thinks to change times and laws.” Daniel 7:25.

In defending traditional marriage between one man and one woman, the bishop has inadvertently stated an eternal truth. God’s law does not change! This reproof to his own church, however, is not likely to make much of an impact. For Rome never changes.

Speaking of same-sex marriage in Argentina, the bishop said; “The consequences will become evident in many areas, perhaps not right away, but there will certainly be repercussions in family life and in the formation of young people.”

“We must maintain our appreciation and adherence to the family as God has willed it and as it was established in the natural order,” he insisted.

Rome’s is inconsistent. On one hand, she proclaims that the Law of God cannot change concerning marriage. On the other, she says that the law of God concerning the fourth commandment (third commandment in the Catholic version of the ten commandments) so that Sunday is kept instead of the Sabbath on the seventh day of the week, the way God intended it and created it. Moreover, the Catholic version of the then commandments also deletes the second commandment which forbids the worship of graven images, and changes the tenth commandment by dividing it in two.

So, the bishop is telling the truth, but in reality, the church has done the very thing to God’s law and to natural created order concerning the Sabbath and the worship of images that the homosexuals try to do in their own way.
